Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Digital Ethics Deliberations website.

Data We Collect
We do not use cookies, analytics platforms, tracking pixels, external fonts or external scripts. We do not store IP addresses, device identifiers or any information that can identify individual visitors.
For security and anonymous usage statistics we record non-identifiable technical information such as the accessed domain or subdomain, the requested page path, general browser, device and operating system categories, the time of access, and (if available) the referring domain. Full referrer URLs or query parameters are never stored.
Links featured on this website are external; their own terms and privacy policies apply once you follow those links.
Purpose and Legal Basis
We process your data to provide the Service (contract performance, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and to ensure security and stability of our systems (legitimate interests, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Retention
Newsletter: Account data is stored as long as your subscription is active on the subscription platform used (here Substack). If you delete your account on that platform, we delete this data permanently. Server logs are retained only briefly for security purposes.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit where applicable.
Your Rights
Under applicable law, you have the right to request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, data portability, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
If you exercise your rights under data protection law (such as requesting access, correction, or deletion of your data), we will respond without undue delay and in any case within one month of receiving your request. In complex cases this period may be extended by up to two further months; if that happens, we will inform you of the reasons for the delay. For general support requests that are not related to privacy or data protection, we aim to respond within a few business days, but there is no legally defined response time.

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
